I named this necklace after Janus (pronounced JAY-niss) because of its two-sided-ness. Janus was an ancient Roman god of gateways, beginnings and endings and duality. (The month of January is named after him.) He is usually depicted with two faces on his head, one on either side. He literally had eyes on the back of his head. Wear this necklace near your heart as a remembrance of the past and hope for the future. Or just wear it because you like how it looks.
DETAILS
- The Janus silver and black pendant is made from two pieces of laser-cut acrylic layered on top of one another.
- The black and silver pendant measures about 1.5 inches across and 2.5 inches lengthwise; the chain is 20 inches long.
- The chain, clasp and jump rings are sterling silver filled, which makes them safe for most people with sensitive skin. (It's a confusing term, but "filled" means the sterling silver on the outside is filled with something else - in this case stainless steel. It's like plating, but much thicker.)
- This lovely pendant necklace comes packaged in a little yellow gift box, ready to be gifted or kept for your own lovely self.
